Trinity Gateway – Sylvan Avenue Pedestrian & Bicycle Improvements – Dallas, TX

Overview

Under contract with the Circuit Trail Conservancy and in partnership with the City of Dallas, Simon Engineering led the civil design and construction coordination for the Trinity Gateway segment of “The LOOP.” This transformative project reimagined the Sylvan Avenue corridor, balancing vehicular capacity with expanded pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure.

Projects Highlights

  • Converted six-lane bridge into multimodal corridor with 20-foot shared-use path
  • Designed intersection upgrades at Sylvan & Irving and Sylvan & Morris
  • Integrated drainage improvements and high-visibility crossings
  • Performed multimodal traffic analysis to support lane reduction
  • Secured Dallas City Council approval of Thoroughfare Plan Amendment
