Residential Street Reconstruction – Crownover Court & Mimms Drive – Dallas, TX

Overview

As part of the City of Dallas’ 2017 Bond Program, Simon Engineering led the design and coordination for the full reconstruction of two residential corridors totaling approximately 2,000 linear feet. The project included roadway replacement, storm drainage upgrades, sidewalk reconstruction, and water and wastewater main replacements — all delivered under an accelerated schedule to meet bond program deadlines.

Projects Highlights

  • Reconstructed 2,000 LF of residential roadway to 6-inch reinforced concrete pavement
  • Replaced storm drainage systems, curb inlets, sidewalks, and ADA ramps
  • Designed waterline (6-inch & 12-inch) and wastewater (8-inch & 15-inch) replacements
  • Engineered complex curb alignments and drainage around half cul-de-sac geometry
  • Managed five subconsultants through expedited delivery

Impact

When the City reduced the design schedule from 48 weeks to 20, Simon delivered all engineering services on time without compromising quality — earning strong performance reviews and reinforcing the firm’s ability to execute under pressure within a bond-funded environment.
